Gratien Proulx establishes the firm to serve the personal insurance needs of individuals.

1984
Sons Louis and Charles join the firm and align the business toward commercial insurance to broaden the customer base while retaining the firm’s existing clientele.

1987
GPL has since acquired several  brokerage firms, boosting its business volume and positioning the firm favorably with insurance markets to the benefit of our clients. Along the way, highly skilled professionals joined our team, to serve more specialized markets.

2007
It is on this foundation, together with the experience acquired over the years that GPL continues its expansion, particularly for commercial and industrial risks with national and international operations. The Montreal office focuses on this specialized market.

2011 
Sign of our growth, the Globalex Special Risks team joins the ranks of GPL assurance, independent broker, as a division specialized in the knowledge-based economy. As a result of this strategic association, GPL clients now have access to an expanded range of products and services thanks to the synergies provided by the integration of the Globalex knowledge-based economy team into GPL.
