GPL is pleased to inform you that as of September 1, 2011, the Globalex Special Risks team will join the ranks of GPL assurance, independent broker, as a division specialized in the knowledge-based economy. As a result of this strategic association, GPL clients will now have access to an expanded range of products and services thanks to the synergies provided by the integration of the Globalex knowledge-based economy team into GPL.
The GPL-Globalex knowledge-based economy team will offer niche insurance and risk management services to clients working in information technology, biopharmaceutical, new media, clean technologies, venture capital and financial institutions.

GPL assurance is proud to acknowledge the award of the CIP title (Chartered Insurance Professional) to three of its employees. Their efforts will be honored at the gala given by the Insurance Institute of Canada on March 16, 2011. The CIP Society represents more than 15,000 graduates of the intensive training program offered at the Institute. Continuing education is key for GPL's growth strategy, and employees are encouraged to pursue their professional development thoughout their career in order to move forward within the group.

Our continued growth is evidenced by the March 2007 opening of an additional office in dowtown Montreal located in Les Cours Mont-Royal. The mission for this office is to specialize in commercial and industrial accounts with national and international operations.

Mr. Louis Proulx, Chairman of the Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Louis-Thomas Labbé as President and CEO of the company.
Mr. Labbé has occupied various senior management positions with national and international insurance brokers over the span of his career. During the last twelve years, he was President and CEO of the Canadian subsidiary of an international insurance broker. Mr. Labbé holds a Master's degree in Business Administration (M.B.A.) from McGill University, he is a Fellow of the Insurance Institute of Canada and was awarded a diploma in Risk Management from McGill University.
As President of the company, Mr. Labbé will be responsible for all activities of the firm and will be inaugurating the new downtown offices in Montreal. This initiative aims at supporting the growth of the firm in the larger commercial and industrial business where expertise and professional advice are critical to developing comprehensive risk management strategies.
